BenchMark 3.5 Student Scholarships

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has graciously awarded the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council funding to provide scholarships to fifteen minority students to the BenchMark 3.5 Conference in San Diego, California March 24-27, 2011. These scholarships extend the legacy of the David Stevenson and William Diaz Fellowships, awarded by NACC with the generous support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, to engage and support emerging scholars in the fields of nonprofit management and philanthropic studies. These scholarship funds will be used to pay the conference registration fee for each student (hotel accommodations are the responsibility of each individual) in the amount of $275.

What you need to do to apply for these funds:

  1. Each student must submit a letter to NACC outlining his/her desire and goals for attending BenchMark 3.5. This letter should include the student's academic focus/area(s) of interest, level of study achieved, future plans in this area of study and professional goals. To meet the grant requirements, each student must also self-identify his/her gender and race/ethnicity. (Forward this correspondence to the contact information below. Letters may be submitted electronically to sshacklett-nacc@case.edu).
  2. Each letter must be co-signed by a dean, associate dean, academic center executive director, academic center associate director or faculty representative of the student?s academic program accompanied by a letter of recommendation for the student.
  3. Each student awarded a scholarship to BenchMark 3.5 must submit a 3-5 page summary of learnings and reflections from the conference to NACC by April 30, 2011.
